  • Soil

I was speaking with a friend who owns a successful business. He stated that he always asks potential employees about their home and family, because, “Our roots are who we are. They’re what we’re made of.”

We wondered together at the tenacity of those who find a way to root themselves into a new life when disaster has ripped the old from them. At how difficult it must be to find common ground in a land where no one, it seems, knows or understands the familiarities of one’s past. And how, when it comes down, we all just need good soil.

Proceeds from "Soil" will benefit Welcome Project Syria in Goderich, which is currently sponsoring our second refugee family.
